Centuria Capital ( Healthcare) Property Fund  buys Weststate Prop-Co.

TOWNSVILLE’S newest health facility Weststate Private Hospital will start construction before the end of the year Weststate Private Hospital will be a $60.5m development funded and owned by Centuria Healthcare; a $1bn property fund manager who have shown confidence in the Townsville property market and backed a local consortium of 3 surgeons to operate the facility. A second private hospital in Townsville would help the local health system cope with the increasing demand and provide state of the art services that are currently not available locally.  Weststate hospital will be the first “greensfield” surgeon owned  fully digitised paperless hospital investing in a state of the art medical record system. The vision of the founders is to provide all surgeons working at the hospital instant access to medical records from anywhere outside the hospital and to minimise medical errors via intelligent digital algorithms. Local surgeon consortium includes 2 local orthopaedic surgeons , A/Prof Kaushik Hazratwala and Dr Peter McEwen and Urologist Dr Kiran Hazratwala. The consortium has worked hard to put together an operating team which includes some senior appointments.  These include interim CEO Neil Henderson, plus an Assistant Director of Nursing and Chief Finance and IT Manager”. The hospital is planned to commence operation towards the end of the first quarter of 2023.
